The BEATS program addresses a two fold need of technology education and employment opportunities by providing access to technology and information resources, one-on-one assistance, individual goal defining, group support and workshops.
The BEATS program aims to help individuals find economic opportunities by guiding them through the process of defining goals, creating a map to and providing resources necessary to fulfill those goals. A goal map may include improving computer skills and finding educational programs, using job search sources, creating a resume, filling out job applications and preparing for an interview.
We value self-sufficiency, initiative and independence. We provide the resources and teach necessary skills for participants to be able to independently use computers and do their own employment searches. While we do assist with resumes, we do not write resumes for participants. The MCF Lab has many job leads, however, we do not place participants in job positions.
To ensure program effectiveness and for funding purposes, BEATS will collect basic information from all participants.
